PegaSys in 2020
2019 has come to an end, and we’re already a week into 2020. The new year is off to a strong start so far for the Ethereum community as a whole, with the Muir Glacier network upgrade taking place on January 2, dropping block times 25% back to their normal rate. We’ve got a lot going on over here at PegaSys as well, and could not be more excited to share more of what we’re working on.
Hyperledger Besu v1.4 will be released on February 26, and will include the following features:
- New tracing APIs
- Event Streaming Improvements
- Advanced Key Management
- New privacy APIs
- End to end encryption with TLS links between PegaSys suite products
In the meantime, be sure to familiarize yourself with everything Besu via the following tutorials:
- DCO Sign Offs: Commiting Code to Hyperledger Besu
- Using Hyperledger Besu with Windows
- Setting up Hyperledger Besu in AWS
- Setting up Monitoring for Hyperledger Besu in AWS

Peggy the Pegasus
You may have seen this image pop on our Twitter over the past few months, or even in person at DevCon. Who is this friendly face, you ask? To kick off the new year, we’d like to formally introduce our official mascot, Peggy the Pegasus.
Peggy loves Ethereum and the environment, and is best known to others for always having a great mane, regardless of the distance traversed to events. You can catch Peggy with friends such as Narly at upcoming conferences like ETHDenver.
Want to know more about Peggy? Be sure to watch our Twitter for the official reveal of Peggy’s very own account! We’ll also be giving away some limited edition collectable Peggy stickers. Email us to get yours while they last!
We’ve got monthly webinars coming your way this quarter covering everything from plugin APIs to our new product launch, as well as the new security and privacy features of Hyperledger Besu v1.4. Our first webinar of the year will be happening February 4, 2020. More information will be sent out this week on how to register- keep an eye on your inbox for more details!
